LeggeraGT Series / 2017
This design has been in development from last couple of years, the sculptural form of this series looks back to the glorious bygone era of cars –the’60s, especially to the beauties of Lamborghini Miura by Marcello Gandini , the FORD GT40 and the likes.. The sensual form and surface is reminiscent of the shark nose fronts, the clean curves and the dynamic shapes. The articulate and sculptural form with its double skinned shell and the void gives it a sleek aesthetic. This gives it a light feel compared to otherwise bulky roto-moulded furniture. This family consists of a chaise lounge, a foot stool & a rocking stool. This project is been in development from last couple of years; it has gone through the ergonomic study models over the time.
Though at the series is now made in GRP, we have plans of collaborating with a maker to do a series production of the LeggeraGT family in rotational moulding, made in 100% recyclable LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene). It can be customized in wide offerings of colours and textures to suit various environments and settings even an LED illuminated variation.
The master pattern was sculpted mostly by hand, using prototyping techniques not very different from car-modelling.
